If the comments made by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua are to be believed, Kenya may benefit from the contentious Finance Bill 2023 after all.

The Finance Bill, according to Gachagua, is a game-changer. He made this claim while speaking at a ceremony on Thursday in Mathira.

He criticized Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio, for what he called a tendency to oppose anything that is right.

The DP claims that, with the exception of a small number of individuals, the whole Mt. Kenya region and the Kenya Kwanza camp are in favor of the measure.

“Wajumbe wote wa Kenya Kwanza wako nyuma ya Finance Bill… Ule mtu anapinga ni mzee wa Kitendwaili na ule mzee wa kuvaa sufuria kwa kichwa. Gachagua responded, “Na Raila anapinga Kila Kitu.

“Kitu nzuri ukiona kitu Raila anapinga hiyo. Yes, I am Kakukoroga Watu. Yeye ndo anapinga. Atanyamaza tu, hapa mlimani ni mia kwa mia, ni mmoja tu anapiga kelele na ni sawa, sisi ni watu wa demokrasia.

Even as President William Ruto asks MPs for their cooperation in passing the Finance Bill, heated arguments about it have continued among Kenyans.

Raila has been at the forefront of leading calls for the Bill to be overturned, warning that if it is not, nationwide protests will resume.
