PAULINE NJOROGE’s explanation for refusing to join RUTO’s team despite being promised a monthly salary of Ksh 500,000.

Pauline Njoroge, a well-known political blogger, has stated unequivocally that she will not join Ruto’s government, even if offered a salary of Ksh 500,000 per month.

Her Facebook post explains why she is unable to join Ruto’s team.

There’s this HNIB fellow who was hired as a social media influencer in State House a few months ago but can’t compose a single grammatically correct sentence unless it’s written for him. To respond to my exposé yesterday, he wrote something created for him, saying that Wahome Thuku and I were looking for government jobs/engagements. After being chastised on Facebook, he removed the post and took the terrible spin to Twitter.

With all humility, let me state that if I wanted to be in this government, I would have been by now, and God in heaven bears testimony to this. For the last three months, there has been a concentrated attempt from a few quarters to come out to me and persuade me to join the government side, to provide social media support, and to make this area easier for them.

But in all of these exchanges, I’ve been quite clear about my position:

During last year’s campaign, I was a vocal opponent of Ruto. I believed everything I said about him, and he has yet to show me wrong. So, how does money affect this conviction?

How can I be a member of a people that look for any opportunity to criticize Uhuru Kenyatta and use him as an excuse for why they are unable to deliver for Kenyans while being in power? Muigai is my political allegiance, whether in power or retired!

I am a communicator with a focus in government communication; what would I be communicating about this government in terms of delivery, actual information rather than propaganda and wishful thinking?

Wahome also bursts out laughing whenever someone suggests he can join this government.
