    Rapper Nicki Minaj has been brought before the court for allegedly refusing to make good on damage to a borrowed piece of handmade jewelry.

    A West Hollywood jeweler is suing the rapper on the grounds that they gave the rapper some items on loan. Some of those pieces, according to the jeweler, were returned broken.

    According to paperwork acquired by TMZ, Nicki’s stylist Brett Alan Nelson and the Roseark jewelry business signed a contract wherein Roseark agreed to loan Nicki jewelry for a public appearance.

    According to the business, the agreement required Brett to pay for any damage the jewelry would sustain while in his care and return the bling within a week.

    66 pieces of jewelry were allegedly not returned by Nicki’s stylist by the predetermined time, and when Brett eventually paid for the bling, a pair of earrings and a leaf ring had visible damage.

    The jeweler’s store only reported a missing stone after everything had been in their custody for a while, according to people close to Nicki, who maintain that everything was returned on schedule and as promised.

    The jewelry shop claims to have given Brett invoices totaling $26,239.50 plus interest for the damage. Roseark employees assert that despite numerous attempts to collect, they have not yet received payment.

    Despite the fact that it appears Nikki never had any direct interactions with the jeweler, Roseark is suing Nicki and her stylist for the money.

    Jordan Siev, Nicki’s attorney, responded to the complaint by saying;

    “No proof has been shown to us indicating that any of the jewelry in question was harmed by Nicki. This action seems to be nothing more than the jeweler making an ordinary insurance claim in an effort to gain attention for itself and obtain a payment to which it is not legally entitled. We’ll actively defend the case.
