Former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni has stated that due to the current high cost of living, Kenyans cannot acquire weight.
Speaking at the Azimio La Umoja Economic Council in Nairobi on Thursday, Kioni contrasted the country’s economic situation to the current Shakahola episodes, in which hundreds of Kenyans have been forced to starve to death.
“This is a Shakahola budget to me.” “All of us are candidates for Shakahola,” Kioni stated.
“At this rate, none of us will be able to gain a kilo because the cost of living will undoubtedly be completely out of reach for all Kenyans.”
He stressed that the high cost of living must be addressed before any further discussions can take place.
Kioni, a former Jubilee Party Secretary General, finished by saying that excessive taxation is impeding growth and that Ruto should stop burdening Kenyans with new taxes.
