Embattled Nominated MP Sabina Chege has urged Azimio Leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta to reconsider removing her from the role of Deputy Minority Whip.
She made this decision after realizing that President William Ruto could not save her from Azimio’s fury. Azimio, led by Raila and Uhuru, deposed Sabina as Deputy Minority Leader after she joined Ruto and attempted to depose the former President as Jubilee Party Leader.
Chege stated during the National Prayer Breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel that she was innocent of all the accusations leveled against her.
Chege stated that her sole issue with the opposition leadership was their decision to prioritize Kenya.
“On the same note of reconciliation,” Chege stated, “I pray to my colleagues in parliaments to reconcile with me because the best thing I did was not to run away from them but to think about the picture of Kenya.”
Chege also begged Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to save her job out of desperation.
She requested Wetangula to be gentle with her and dismiss the opposition’s intention to fire her.
“Mr. Speaker, as they plan to remove me as deputy minority whip, I hope you will look at me differently.” I also extend the same branch to my Azimio colleagues because I have done nothing wrong. “The only thing I’ve done is prioritize Kenya over myself,” she explained.
