Raila Odinga, leader of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance, has urged his supporters to prepare for the return of weekly protests in order to force President William Ruto’s administration to listen to Kenyans’ voices.
Raila, who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, said on Wednesday at Chungwa House when he met members of the Gusii Community living in Nairobi that Ruto’s regime has turned a deaf ear to the issues raised by Kenyans and is instead hellbent on imposing more taxes on them through the Finance Bill.
“Kenyans are in pain. They are in pain. They came to power through the backdoor when they were unprepared to govern and now want to blame their inefficiencies on Kenyans,” Raila said.
The ex-premier announced that he and his colleagues Azimio principals would offer the public with a plan of action for the disputed Finance Bill 2023 coming Thursday.
He stated that if Ruto does not remove the Finance Bill 2023, Azimio will be forced to call “its army” to demonstrate across the country.
