A raucous mob attacked a suspected thug who was purportedly engaging in illegal activity in one of Nairobi’s informal settlements, and police officers struggled to keep them under control.
The accused thug is attacked by the bloodthirsty mob using a variety of crude weapons in a video that has since gone viral as police officers desperately try to save him.
The mob tried to take the suspected thug away from the officers when they caught him and tried to put him in their car.
The police were eventually overrun by the mob, yet they persisted in protecting the alleged thug while also putting their own lives in danger.
After threatening to shoot in self-defense, they eventually subdued the mob and transported the suspect to the police station.
The police officers have received praise from online users for saving the life of the suspected criminal.
There are actual police officers. These people need to get paid more, a Twitter user said.
The officers performed a good job. The accused must not be condemned before being heard. Another user agreed, saying “The restraint in not firing in the air is commendable.”
