Kimani Ichung’wah, a Kikuyu Member of Parliament, has been severely embarrassed by his constituents after lying to them about supporting the Finance Bill 2023.
On Tuesday, Ichung’wah, who is also the Leader of the Majority in Parliament, stated that he had conferred with his constituents about the financial bill, and that they had unanimously urged him to support the plan, which will raise taxes on all firms.
“After walking my constituents through the Finance Bill, they unanimously directed me to support these proposals because they were appalled by the widespread campaign of misinformation being spread about the bill,” Ichung’wah said.
Kimani Ichung’wah’s revelations, on the other hand, elicited severe reactions from his Kikuyu constituency. They instructed Ichung’wah to cease lying and to tell the truth about what individuals had said.
Others advised him to amend and remove the problematic parts in the planned bill before it was passed in Parliament.
