KANINI KEGA’s stance on challenging UHURU over the Jubilee Party has shifted – Look! Is he aware that RUTO and GACHAGUA are abusing him?

Kanini Kega, a member of the East African Legislative Assembly, has left President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua perplexed.

This comes after he changed his tune on the Jubilee squabbles, stating he no longer wants to battle former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kega, the Secretary General of the renegade Jubilee Party, declared during an interview on Tuesday that he will convene another Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) in June and requested Uhuru to attend.

The former Kieni MP said the Uhuru-led NDC was a shambles because it lacked genuine delegates.

Kega also denied collaborating with Ruto and Gachagua against the party’s chairman, the former Head of State.

On May 22, Uhuru led a Jubilee NDC rally at the Ngong’ Racecourse, where he accused Jubilee members of supporting President William Ruto and his administration. Kega alleged that the NDC was nothing more than a political demonstration at the time.

He accused Uhuru of inviting non-delegates to the NDC, claiming that it was formed unlawfully.

“How can you set the agenda for an NDC without a National Executive Committee (NEC)?” Misleading the fourth president is a huge mistake,” Kega warned forcefully.

While stressing that Uhuru remains a close friend, Kega pointed out that the former Head of State stepped down as Jubilee leader on March 14, six months after Ruto was sworn in as President on September 13, 2022.

As a result, he regretted that he was being wrongly accused of betraying Uhuru, despite the fact that he had supported him in the run-up to the August 2022 General Elections.

“I’ve been abused as a result of my support for Uhuru. That’s why it’s amusing to hear people say I betrayed him. If I were to betray Uhuru, I would have done it last year,” lamented Kega.
