Rigathi Gachagua, Deputy President, has sworn absolute war on former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga.
Gachagua advised Maina Njenga against recreating the outlawed Mungiki sect and warned of dire consequences during a church service at AIPCA Town Cathedral Thika in Kiambu County.
According to Gachagua, President William Ruto’s administration would use all available resources to ensure that the deadly Mungiki dies for the sake of the country.
Not only that, but Gachagua singled out Maina Njenga for manipulating the kids in order to benefit himself through Mungiki operations.
He stated that Njenga was the lone beneficiary, referring to the nine opulent residences he erected across the country.
“A few people are taking advantage of young people.” That sect leader is where the money was collected, so take all of it to him. As of present, he has nine opulent residences in Lavington, Kitengela, Nyahururu, and others.”
“I want to talk to our young people, please don’t be misled into starting those activities because the government will not allow even for a day, and it will be rough, I can tell you,” he said.
He urged parents, church leaders, and elders to speak with Mt Kenya’s young people to ensure they are not engaged in the sect.
“We have taken note of your worries regarding that gang. Let me tell you that the government will not permit the rebirth of that criminal gang.
“I implore church leaders and elders to speak to our children.” That guy who is reviving that gang is putting our children in danger. Because the government would not allow it, I would like to invite parents to talk to their children about not allowing them to be exploited to cause trouble,” he pleaded.
He specifically challenged the sect’s organizers to use their children rather than the youth in their strategy.
“Any attempt to replicate their activity will be prohibited.” “How come you can’t bring your own children to confront us?” he questioned.
