In Embakasi, police retrieve vandalized Kenyan power wires worth Ksh 6.3 million (PHOTOS).

A multi-agency security team raided a go-down in Embakasi, Nairobi, and found equipment for installing electricity that belonged to Kenya Power and was valued at Ksh6.3 million.

The National Police Service (NPS) announced in a statement that during the operation on Thursday, May 25, 2023, 10 tonnes of vandalized aluminum high transmission cables were confiscated.

In the operation, four people were detained; they will be formally charged in court on Monday, May 29.

In recent months, Kenya Power has raised alarm over the rising number of vandalism incidents in the city and other regions of the nation.
