First Lady Rachael Ruto has stated her support for Finance Bill 2023, claiming that it will improve Kenyans’ life.
Finance measure 2023 is a government-sponsored measure that proposes a slew of additional taxes on Kenyans in fiscal year 2023/2024.
Rachael stated on Monday at the annual Teresia Wairimu Evangelistic Ministries conference in Dallas, Texas, that the Finance Bill’s proposed VAT exemption on exported services will inspire more investors to establish up marketplaces in Kenya.
“Through the Kenya Investment Authority, the government is implementing a one-stop shop concept to facilitate investor entry into the country,” she explained.
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are among the sectors that will profit from the investment prospects, according to Mama Rachel.
Rachael also advised US investors to use Kenya’s unique location as the gateway to East Africa to trade with the country and region.
“Investors are invited to explore opportunities in these sectors and take advantage of Kenya’s young and vibrant population, improved infrastructure, and supportive investment climate,” she said.
