After calling for secession, former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka and prime minister Raila Odinga were labeled as egotistical leaders by defense cabinet secretary Aden Duale.

Speaking on Saturday at the inauguration of the Masalani municipality in Garissa County, Duale argued that such threats from Raila and Kalonzo were reckless.

Duale emphasized that Kenya is a coherent nation, with the president serving as a symbol of national unity, with reference to the constitution. He urged Raila to accept the administration and permit national development.
President William Ruto was given a seven-day deadline by Raila on Friday to refute deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s assertion that the Kenya Kwanza administration is a shareholder corporation.
If Ruto does not repudiate Gachagua’s words, the opposition leader vowed to write to the UN to declare Kenya’s secession.
