The housing plan of President William Ruto seems unstoppable.

After it was discovered that 30,000 Kenyans are already paying to the fund despite several complaints, this happened.

According to a statement from Moses Kuria, the Trade Cabinet Secretary, 30,000 Kenyans have already contributed to Ruto’s contentious housing plan.

Kuria stated that as a result, the government had already amassed Ksh1.8 billion, which would be used to build more homes.

Kuria asserts that if all paid workers made payments, the Finance Bill 2023’s implementation of the levy, which would provide job opportunities and alter the nation, would benefit millions of Kenyans.

30,000 Kenyans have already made contributions to the Housing Fund, did you know that? They have already raised Ksh1.8 billion.

“At the moment, Kenya has 3 million salaried employees, which equals 18 million jobs according to the same criteria. Secession is optional, but Kuria insisted that the country needed to reform.

He further said that, with adequate planning, he could easily increase the sum to Ksh45 billion by enlisting more investors.

“With gearing, I can convince investors to increase this by 25 times to Ksh45 billion worth of homes, or 18,000 homes at Ksh2.5 million.

10 jobs will be produced by each dwelling. Just from a pool of 30,000 voluntary contributions, that amounts to 180,000 employment, he explained.

This comes after many Kenyans opposed the housing fee and the 16% gasoline VAT that were included in the Finance Bill 2023, which Parliament hinted at revising.
