Embattled New Life Prayer Center and Church’s Pastor Ezekiel Odero has resisted being silenced.
This comes after he once again shocked President William Ruto and Interior CS Kithure Kindiki by launching a new church in spite of his connections to the Shakahola atrocity and renegade Pastor Paul Mackenzie.
In Kisii County, Pastor Ezekiel established a new location of the New Life Prayer Centre and Church and appointed his younger brother as the local pastor.
The senior pastor of the New Life Church, which is quickly growing in the Bonchari Constituency, is Gillack Odero, the family’s fourth-born child.
The flock of followers of Pastor Ezekiel from the neighboring counties of Homa Bay and Migori attends its Sunday services as well.
Pastor Ezekiel got into difficulty with the law after being accused of money laundering and being connected to the Shakahola massacre. He was detained for a week before being freed on bond.
To discourage other rogue preachers from using the bible against their unwitting followers, CS Kindiki had sworn to make an example out of Mackenzie and Ezekiel, including closing their churches and locking them up for the rest of their lives.
