Ruto allegedly persuaded the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group to approve the disputed Finance Bill 2023, according to Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina.
Ruto wants to leverage the Bill’s radical proposals to increase revenue in order to revive the economy.
Ledama claimed that despite strong resistance to the law, Ruto, who hosted the parliamentary group meeting at State House in Nairobi, was able to persuade his MPs to support it.
Following the happenings, the ODM lawmaker cautioned Kenyans to be prepared for harder times.

Among the organizations that have objected to some of Ruto’s tax ideas are the Media Owners Association, the opposition, the Federation of Kenya Employers, and the ACK.
The 3% housing charge, which would use the funds raised to build projects that provide affordable housing, and the 16% fuel VAT are two of the bill’s most important proposals.
