Following a high-speed chase in Rio, a Brazilian influencer was fatally murdered in front of her boyfriend and their two-year-old son in a botched heist.
According to Mail Online, Luanne Jardim was in the passenger seat of her car on Sunday night, May 21, as her boyfriend, Joo Farche, tried to escape the suspects.
The couple’s son, Miguelzinho Farche, watched as the 33-year-old was struck in the shoulder. She passed away after being sent to Salgado Filho Municipal Hospital.
Although the Rio de Janeiro Military Police claimed to be looking into the incident as a possible robbery attempt, Jardim’s father thinks she was murdered.
Clearly, this wasn’t just a simple theft or heist. According to Atanael Jardim, as cited by the Brazilian news source G1.
Because no one in a car would hijack the other and open fire from inside with the window closed, this was most likely a homicide.
According to a police report, the suspects opened fire on Jardim’s vehicle from the rear before coming up from the side.
Her passing occurred approximately 15 days after she switched from her Porsche, which had bulletproof windows, to another car without armored protection.
As of Tuesday afternoon, there had been no reports of any arrests.
Jardim, who also leaves behind a 10-year-old daughter, rose to social media fame in 2019 after escaping a violent relationship and conquering her struggles with depression and weight.
