German football great and 1991 Ballon d’Or winner Lothar Matthaus has acquired Accra Lions FC, a team in the Ghana Premier League.
On Tuesday, May 23, the former Germany captain was introduced as a club co-owner.
According to reports, he invested in the team with Frank Acheampong of Ghana and Oliver König, a football agent.
At a brief ceremony in Accra, the club presented the trio.
