Despite the various difficulties Kenyans are currently experiencing under President William Ruto’s leadership, First Lady Rachel Ruto has asked them to maintain their composure.

President William Ruto’s wife stated during a church service at Deliverance Church in Umoja, Nairobi, that the government was committed to seeing that its agenda was carried out for the benefit of all Kenyans.

“Kenya is a nice country. We may be facing difficulties, but it’s similar to building a house; there may be cracks at first, but they will eventually fill in, the First Lady said.

Church leaders across the nation were exhorted to embrace the bottom-up governance agenda by Mama Rachel Ruto.

The First Lady’s statement included the following quote: “The church has a key role to play in actualizing the projects envisaged in the bottom-up economic transformation agenda. I, therefore, call upon church leaders to support the initiative.”

She called on the other leaders present to identify comparable possible projects in addition to the priority regions. She specifically mentioned a multistory residential dwelling complex being developed on Kangundo Road by Deliverance Church Umoja.

The First Lady further elaborated on the intentions of Ruto’s administration to grow industries that employ the majority of Kenyans, including agriculture, micro, small, and medium-sized companies (MSME), housing and settlement, and manufacturing.

She expressed hope that the country would fully recover economically from the consequences of the protracted drought, which was the worst in forty years.

She made the request of church officials at a time when the church was being attacked in the wake of the Shakahola massacre.
