On Thursday, May 18, the Premier League posted a message on its Twitter account announcing the seven candidates for the Premier League Player of the Season title.
Along with Buakayo Saka and Martin Odegaard of Arsenal, De Bruyne and Haaland made the list. Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Harry Kane of Tottenham also made the cut.

With 16 assists this season, De Bruyne currently holds the #1 spot on the list of best assisters. This season, the Belgian has seven goals to his credit.
With 36 goals, Haaland leads the Premier League in scoring, while 27 goals by Tottenham striker Kane puts him in second place.
Trippier has performed admirably for Newcastle this year. The Englishman, who has scored once so far this year, is an important member of Newcastle’s defense. He was crucial to their effort to finish in the top four this season.
This Premier League season, Saka has contributed 11 assists and 13 goals to Arsenal.
This season, Rashford has scored 16 goals for Manchester United, while Odegaard has 15 goals and seven assists for Arsenal.
