On March 24, the Police Command arrested Abiodun Oladapo, 43, for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter (name withheld).
The suspect was apprehended in response to a complaint filed at police divisional headquarters by one Oluwatoyin Idowu, who stated that her son, Michael Idowu, had been wrongfully accused of impregnating the victim and that she had properly interrogated her son and discovered that the victim was not telling the truth.
According to a statement from the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the victim, who is five months pregnant, was invited after the report, and when she arrived at the station, she told the police that while Michael Idowu slept with her in December 2022, it was her father, Abiodun Oladapo, who is responsible for her pregnancy.
She went on to say that her father had been sleeping with her since February 2022 and had threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
“According to the victim, when her pregnancy was discovered, her father asked her to lie against Michael Idowu, accusing him of being responsible for the pregnancy.”

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has directed that the suspect be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution, according to the police spokesperson.
