Hungry Kenyans loot senselessly after a truck transporting beans overturned on Thika Road (PHOTOs)

On Saturday morning, there was a major traffic jam on Thika Superhighway after a truck carrying beans overturned.

Before the police arrived, Kenyans rushed to the scene and carted away sacks of beans.

Several sacks were stolen by boda boda riders and motorists, and those who were unable to haul full sacks filled small bags with cereal.

Mr Charles Mureithi, Juja Sub County Deputy County Commissioner, stated that the scene was later secured.

“We dispatched officers to the scene, and they brought everything under control,” he said, condemning the looters.
