Attempts to restore order through a handshake between President William Ruto and Azimio Leader Raila Odinga have been shattered.

This comes after he pledged never to shake Ruto’s hand because he is an ineligible politician.

Raila disputes the assertions made by the Kenya Kwanza government that Azimio is pressuring for a handshake.

“Kenya Kwanza has persisted in asserting that all we want is a handshake. We categorically deny this untrue rumor. The Kenyan people’s intelligence is being insulted by this. We won’t shake hands with an unrecognized government, he continued.

After receiving advice from Catholic bishops to look for other channels to air his frustrations, Raila responded.

In a statement to the media on Wednesday, the bishops urged President Ruto and Raila to think about dialogue as a way to break the current impasse.

The bible contains our response to the clergy over our protests, and we are searching for the truth regarding the election server, cutting living expenses, canceling the appointment of 50 CAS, and reintroducing “Cherera Four,” Raila remarked.

At the same time, Raila urged his supporters to show up in big numbers on Monday, albeit peacefully, promising the largest protest of all time to take place the following week.

On Monday, March 27, the mother of all demonstrations will take place in Nairobi, and Raila urged all patriotic Kenyans to participate peacefully.
