The administration of President William Ruto has announced that unga prices will drop over the next ten days.

The government has activated all available mechanisms to ensure that no Kenyan perishes from hunger, according to Mithika Linturi, the cabinet secretary for agriculture, who testified before a parliamentary committee on Wednesday.

According to Linturi, the initial shipment of imported rice and maize will go a long way toward reducing the country’s current deficit.

43,123 billion metric tonnes of rice and 1,305 billion metric tonnes of maize, according to the CS, arrived in the nation on Wednesday.

“We will have enough maize and rice to flood this country in another 10 days. No Kenyan will starve to death, I want to assure you, Linturi said.

If farmers are hoarding anything, Linturi continued, “we ask them to release it to the market because prices will crash.”

The President William Ruto-led administration is pleased with this, but former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who has organized a number of protests to put pressure on the government to lower the high cost of living, is not.
