Former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has offered to cover Nuru Okanga’s medical expenses while she is being held at Nairobi’s Kayole Hospital. Nuru Okanga is a fervent supporter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Okanga was admitted to the hospital on Monday due to what the doctors described as an acute malaria case.
Wednesday night, Okanga begged Kenyans to help him pay the hospital bill because he had no money on hand.
On the front lines of Raila Odinga’s Azimio mass protest on Monday were thousands of Kenyans, including Okanga.
Sonko promised to pay Okanga’s medical bills and give him one month’s worth of shopping in a tweet on Thursday.
The former County boss urged Okanga to stop being mistreated by Raila Odinga and added that he would give his family a year’s worth of medical coverage.
