Brenda Kawira, a 29-year-old woman who died on February 22, 2023, in Kasarani after an argument with her boyfriend, is being investigated by detectives.
Brenda’s boyfriend, popular Nairobi entertainer Marvin Kiretai alias DJ Dela, claimed she died after jumping off the fourth-floor balcony of the apartment building where they shared a room.
Brenda’s family, on the other hand, wants him arrested after crucial evidence was discovered in the house.
He also gave police conflicting reports after she died.
While he claims she died by jumping, his clothes, the door handle, the walls, and the mat were all bloody, indicating that he may have physically assaulted her.
Brenda also left a diary in which she expressed her feelings about their violent relationship.
She also accused him of infidelity and regretted ever meeting him.
Brenda was preparing to leave the country in June 2023 for a Master’s program in Australia.
