According to local reports, a Kentucky middle school principal was arrested on his first day on the job on Monday.
Leroy Littles Sr., 44, began his new job as principal of Olmsted Academy North in Louisville on Monday, March 13.
According to WDRB-TV, a “Welcome, Principal Littles” sign was placed in front of the school.
Littles was arrested on the same day for a domestic violence incident on December 25, 2022.
At the school, he was served with an arrest warrant for fourth-degree assault and third-degree terroristic threatening.
According to a police report obtained by the news outlet, Littles was at his girlfriend’s house when she was seen leaving with an ex-boyfriend.
As Littles began arguing with her, he allegedly assaulted the former boyfriend, who suffered facial and head injuries.
Littles was nowhere to be found when Hillview police arrived.
According to reports, the victim has video of the alleged assault and gave it to the Bullitt County Attorney’s Office a few days later.
The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) district informed parents of the arrest in a letter.
“You may have seen or heard stories in the local media about allegations made against Olmsted North Principal Leroy Littles, Sr. “The charges have nothing to do with JCPS,” it stated.
According to the district, the school has been given over to an assistant principal.
Littles has spent 16 years with the district, most recently as a principal intern at Waggener High School earlier this school year.
