PLO Lumumba, a renowned lawyer and scholar, has urged Azimio leader Raila Odinga to use his political experience and influence to protect the country.

Lumumba told Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) on Wednesday evening that the country is governed by the Constitution and that he should not march to State House, but rather follow the proper procedure.

“To Raila, however dissatisfied you are, use your experience and influence to protect Kenya. “There will be no march to the State House,” Lumumba said.

“There is a constitutionally mandated procedure.”

“That process did not make you Kenya’s President,” Lumumba added.

Raila illegally declared Monday, March 20th a public holiday to allow Azimio supporters to travel to participate in the mass action against what he called an illegitimate government on March 14th.

“I hereby declare today, in the name of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance Coalition, that Monday, March 20, will be a public holiday,” Raila said.

The declaration, however, is not legally binding.

The Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Interior Ministry is given the authority to declare public holidays under the law.
