Kipruto Arap Kirwa, a former Agricultural Cabinet Secretary, has stated that he does not trust Kenya’s judiciary.

In an interview on Wednesday, Kirwa expressed his expectation that the Judiciary will not reject the Azimio La Umoja Coalition’s plea to open the IEBC servers.

“I no longer trust the judiciary; I trusted it for a short time when David Maraga was Chief Justice and Justice Willy Mutunga was Chief Justice, but now I have serious doubts,” Kirwa remarked.

“We may need to file another case in court for the express aim of opening servers; we hope the government of the day does not put the Judiciary under such state capture that the case is thrown out as hot air.”

He further stated that the IEBC’s integrity should not be jeopardized because it is an independent electoral organization.

“IEBC should be an independent institution in the sense that no regime should interfere with the activities that they are carrying out,” Kirwa stated.

This comes after Raila Odinga directed President William Ruto to release the IEBC servers and have a respected business audit the presidential votes cast on August 9.
