The current joint security operation being carried out by the police and Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) will entirely eradicate bandits and cattle rustlers, according to President William Ruto.

At a pass-out parade for new graduates and General Service Officer cadets on Friday at the military academy in Lanet, Nakuru, Ruto promised that all bandits would be apprehended and that all illicit weapons would be seized.

All children will return to school, the chief of state declared, and he also ordered the military to collaborate with the Ministry of Education to reconstruct any damaged educational facilities.

He declared that “the dangerously misguided notion that people can obtain illegal weapons, mobilize to commit murder, robbery, violence, and other criminal acts, and in the process displace, torment, cause suffering, and cause insecurity to communities, must and will come to an end” must and will be put an end to.

Only two days before to Ruto’s comments, Legislators from northern Kenya said they wanted the military to run the security operation completely.

The lawmakers requested that Ruto go to Parliament to request authorization for the deployment of the Kenya Defense Force in the unrest-plagued area.

With the aid of KDF officers, the police are currently in charge of the security operation in the area.
