Senator Ledama Olekina of Narok has made a sensational claim that his and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino’s lives are in danger.
According to him, President William Ruto’s administration intends to arrest him along with Babu Owino following the humiliating grilling of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i at the DCI Headquarters on Tuesday.
Ledama claimed on Twitter on Wednesday that the police are looking for an arrest warrant before coming for them.
“Where has my friend HE Babu Owino gone? I understand they are looking for you and me; they are busy writing statements in order to find a count to arrest you and me! “Please hold your brief and inform them that I am ready,” Ledama tweeted.
His comments come less than a month after Babu claimed there is a plot to arrest him in connection with the death of former Embakasi returning officer Daniel Musyoka.
On February 4, Babu claimed that he received a call from the DCI instructing him to report to the Embakasi police station.
“A day before the Jacaranda rally, DCI called me at the Embakasi police station and told me that I needed to go and record a statement about the death of former returning officer Daniel Musyoka,” Babu explained.
The second-term ODM MP also claimed that DCI cars had been patrolling the area around his house.
“I passed by my house where I live, and I saw two Subarus moving around there, but I want to ask Ruto and Rigathi why they are using police officers when they have stated repeatedly that they will not use police officers for political reasons.” Babu Owino posed for the camera.
