Sam Ogina, a well-known Citizen TV reporter, has resigned from Royal Media Services (RMS) after being appointed to a senior position in President William Ruto’s government.

Ogina was named communications director in the office of the Leader of the Majority in the National Assembly.

Kimani Ichung’wah, a Kikuyu Member of Parliament, is the Leader of the Majority in Parliament.

Sam Ogina attended Daystar University, a Christian liberal arts college. Before joining RMS, he worked for KTN.

Ogina followed in the footsteps of Francis Gachuri, who was appointed as the Interior Ministry’s Communication Director.

During his farewell speech, Gachuri reflected on his time at RMS, thanking his coworkers, bosses, and viewers for their support.

The departures of Gachuri and Ogina are a significant setback for the SK Macharia-owned firm, as they were regarded as the “golden boys” of modern political journalism.
