After a 23-year-old woman was discovered dead in a lodging in Githunguri Town, Kiambu County, police opened an inquiry.
According to reports, the deceased woman, named as Elizabeth Wangui Mbugua, booked into a hotel called Mwangaza while out with a man.
The staff members found her body a few hours later.
She was found to be wrapped in blankets and lying naked on the bed when police arrived at the location after the management reported the occurrence.
She had blood coming out of her mouth.
Blood was found on the bedding, pillowcases, and undergarments.
The man she was observed booking the room with was later detained by police.
Police have him in prison as they look into the matter.
In anticipation of the autopsy, which would decide how to proceed with the investigation, the deceased’s body was transferred to the mortuary.
