On Sunday, March 5, a tragic occurrence took place when a policeman working at the Lang’ata Police Station in Kenya shot and killed his colleague’s wife and then his lover.

According to a police report that was posted online, the officer assigned to the CleanShelf area’s night shift first killed his colleague’s wife before locking himself in his home and killing his girlfriend seven times before killing himself.

It said;

“Assistant Office Lang’ata IP Alice Wanjau reported hearing gunshot noises coming from the Mugumoini Chief’s Camp as she was reassigning officers for nighttime duty.

She respectively informed OCS Lang’ata and SCPC Lang’ata. They hurried to the Chief’s Camp, a collection of officer residences, where they discovered that No. 224377 CPL Mark Mulanda of the Lang’ata Police Station, who had been assigned to night shifts in the CleanShelf, NHC, and Southlands districts, had shot two ladies before turning the gun on himself.

The cop opened fire twice at Fiona Chepkoech, 37, the husband of No. 233722 PC Enock Tirop outside of his home before locking the door from inside and shooting his lover.

The 28-year-old Rhoda Machumba Chepchumba was shot seven times before the shooter turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the neck with an AK S/NO 17-2306 that was at the time of the shooting filled with 30 rounds of ammunition.

The act’s motivation has not yet been determined, according to the authorities. The deceased’s bodies have been transported to City Mortuary in anticipation of the autopsy.
