The daughter of late Cabinet Minister John Njoroge Michuki has resigned from a lucrative position in President William Ruto’s administration.
Yvonne Wanja Michuki resigned from the Agriculture Finance Corporation’s board of directors (AFC).
Yvonne wrote to Agricultural Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi on March 2, 2023, citing personal reasons for her resignation.
“I write to notify you that I have elected to retire from the board of directors of AFC for personal reasons, effective immediately.
“It was an honor to serve on the corporation’s Board of Directors. “I appreciate the chance and wish the government and the corporation the best,” she said.
The Agricultural Financing Corporation is established by the AFC Act (Cap 323). Its mission is to help agricultural enterprises develop by making loans and providing administrative and technical assistance to loan recipients.
Her departure coincided with the purge of President (Rtd) Uhuru Kenyatta’s loyalists. President William Ruto and his Cabinet have gone on a firing spree of the retired head of state’s appointees since taking office.
