James Orengo, Governor of Siaya County, has assailed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for criticizing former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking at the burial of Luo elder Ker Willis Opiyo Otondi in Kisumu on Saturday, Orengo claimed that when Raila was battling for multi-party democracy in the country, Gachagua was still a District Officer under late dictator Moi’s administration.
“It’s an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth,” Orengo remarked.
He also stated that Raila has never been hauled to court for anything, and Gachagua cannot make it his job to speak publicly about Raila.
Gachagua has addressed Raila’s political rallies on multiple occasions, claiming that his boss, President William Ruto, is not open to a handshake.
Gachagua stated that the only conversation he would have with the opposition leader would be about how to get him out of politics.
