Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s close aide has chastised Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi for using state money to open an office for his wife.
Opiyo Wandayi, Member of Parliament for Ugunja, stated on Friday that such an agency is a waste of public resources and a flagrant betrayal of ‘hustlers’ who were reportedly duped into voting for the Kenya Kwanza government.
“What we’ve seen with this regime is not acceptable. You witnessed the creation of the job of Prime Cabinet Secretary. “They are currently occupied with creating jobs for Chief Administrative Secretaries,” Wandayi stated.
Mudavadi presided over the establishment of the Office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary, which will be held by his wife Tessie Shangatti Mudavadi.
Politicians and Kenyans both reacted differently to this.
Wandayi went on to say that neither the constitution nor any other law recognize the status.
“It is sad that anyone may wake up and assume that he is inventing the office of the Spouse to the Prime Cabinet Secretary. “It is a blatant waste of taxpayer funds,” he stated.
Wandayi, who is also the Minority Leader in Parliament, addressed at the inauguration of an assistant chief’s office and a police station in Madungu, Sigomere Ward, Ugunja.
