Following an alleged attack at a nightclub in New York City, the American musician Travis Scott has been listed as a suspect.

In the early hours of March 1st, the 30-year-old rapper from Astroworld is accused of punching a sound engineer and causing $12,000 in damage at the Nebula nightclub in Midtown Manhattan.

Without naming Scott as the suspected suspect, an NYPD spokeswoman confirmed the incident to Yahoo Entertainment, stating that an alleged assault happened there around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

A 52-year-old man and Scott got into a “verbal confrontation,” according to an NYPD official, which “escalated into a violent brawl.” The aggressor is said to have “punched the victim in the face” before damaging a video screen and audio speaker, totaling around $12,000 in equipment damage. The inquiry is still being conducted.

According to NBC News and NYPD sources, Scott, actual name Jacques Webster, was wanted after reportedly striking the victim on the left side of the face with a closed fist. Scott then drove away from the club on West 41st Street. By 3:25 in the morning, police arrived at Nebula. Detectives are watching club security footage.

Scott is sought after, according to WPIX-TV, on allegations of assault and criminal mischief. Police received no major bodily injury reports from the suspected victim.

At rapper Don Toliver’s performance at the Union Square music venue Irving Plaza earlier in the evening, Scott showed up as a surprise guest.
