Amid the outpouring of grief following the untimely death of Prof. George Magoha, a former cabinet secretary for education, Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio la Umoja, has shared details of their final chat.

Speaking after visiting the grieving family yesterday, Raila mentioned that they spoke on the phone about Maghoha’s probable transfer to Maseno University two weeks ago.

The two also discussed the funeral arrangements for Magoha’s late brother, Professor Alex Nyabera Magoha, who will be buried on January 28.

We’ve been talking on the phone. We last chatted two weeks ago and discussed the transition at that time. Raila said, “I believe he attended an interview at Maseno University.

His death, according to the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), was a tremendous loss to that country because he had devoted his life to aiding Kenyans.

Having spent the previous day with Magoha, former Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju, who was in the same cabinet as him, expressed his sadness at learning of his passing.

Tuju said that Magoha was in good spirits and otherwise exhibited no symptoms of illness, with the exception of a brief statement that he felt weary.

He mentioned that Magoha was at the center of the group tasked with organizing the funeral arrangements for the sibling who had passed away while in the US.

But at the time this article was published, the exact date of Magoha’s burial remained uncertain.
