According to reports, a man in Kiambu killed himself and wrote a note confessing to the murder of his 80-year-old mother for Ksh 8,000 Inua Jamii in cash.
The 50-year-old, known as Gikonyo Muchiri, was a drug addict, according to the neighbors.
After penning a confession about killing his mother, he hanged himself on the roof, and his body was found inside his home.
The event has been confirmed, and according to Githunguri Police Commander Mary Kaimenyi, investigations are still ongoing.
Kaimenyi remarked, “He had a written note in his pocket that read that he felt bad for what he had done to his mother.
“Perhaps, as stated in the note, he is aware of the cause of his mother’s recent death. We have opened inquiries to determine the cause of the mother’s death, she added.
His mother was reported to have been murdered for more than Ksh. 8,000 Inua Jamii Cash when she was found dead at her house earlier this month.
A neighbor claimed that Gikonyo committed suicide after using up all of the money.
Gikonyo Muchiiri, who killed his mother Nyakero Muchiri for the money from Inua Jamii, was the perpetrator. When he ran out of money, he also committed suicide, according to the neighbor.
He has already admitted to killing his mother, she continued. We don’t know if they will delay the funeral so that the two might be laid to rest together; his mother was scheduled to be buried tomorrow.
