All Azimio One Kenya Alliance leaders who have been asserting that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the August 9, 2022, Presidential election should be arrested, according to former Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko.
President William Ruto came in second with 5.9 million votes, according to Azimio officials led by Jeremiah Kioni, secretary general of the Jubilee Party, who claim Raila Odinga won the most recent election with 8.1 million votes.
The accusation made by the Azimio leaders was compared to treason by Sonko, who spoke in Machakos County, and he urged for their imprisonment.
“The government is still in place; what you’re doing is treason. We won’t let you stir up Kenyans while they wait for development because that would mean leaving Kenyans behind, Sonko stated.
Sonko stated that his new responsibility will be to defend the President and his administration against detractors.
“I am aware that we didn’t give President William Ruto many votes in Ukambani. However, our president is unwilling to combine politics and leadership, Sonko remarked.
“We saw lorries moving food to Kitui, Makueni, and Machakos when there was starvation in Ukambani. So, regardless of whether we voted for him or not, we have a president who is actively carrying out development projects.
So I’m urging you. Let’s back the government for the time being. The stability of the government must be ensured, he continued.
