Prior to Raila Odinga being named the victor of the August 9 general election by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati yesterday at Bomas of Kenya, President-elect William Ruto disclosed that he had spoken to the Azimio candidate.
Ruto said he called Raila in the morning and they talked about how they would move the country ahead during an interview at the Bomas of Kenya on Monday.
Ruto claims that he would be more than happy to sit down with Raila over a cup of tea and discuss potential areas of cooperation.
“Perhaps I should admit that when I called Raila Odinga this morning, he promised that he would be ready for a conversation.
I told him that because he is the head of the opposition, we may have a cup of tea because there are some things on which we can agree.
