Residents in Kisumu county have stated that they are willing to accept the results of the 2022 presidential election.
Raila Odinga of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance and William Ruto of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance were running neck-and-neck for the presidency.
The citizens of Kisumu asked other Kenyans from other regions to accept the election results regardless of who they voted for, under the leadership of Steven Omondi and Hillary Otieno.
“You are aware that all activity has ceased. Sincerely, we look forward to announcing the winner. I am aware that we all had our favorite candidates on the ballot, but we will accept the victor and go back to our regular lives and jobs, Omondi added.
“We would accept the results and recognize whoever is proclaimed as the President of all Kenyans,” Otieno said in a follow-up statement.
