Jubilee, the party of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has issued a warning to its followers on a Twitter account that purports to be that of its vice chair, David Murathe, and which admits that Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate for Azimio la Umoja, lost the election.
Jubilee stated in a statement that despite having 97,500 followers, Murathe did not own the page.
The ruling party also clarified that Murathe doesn’t have any social media profiles and urged users to stay away from information found on accounts connected to the outspoken politician.
Please be advised that Hon. David Murathe, vice chair of the Jubilee Party, does not have any social media accounts, the party said.
The former prime minister had apparently acknowledged defeat, according to the material on the flagged Twitter handle.
It did, however, suggest that Raila intended to file a lawsuit before the Supreme Court to contest the polling results.
Jubilee claimed that the page was being controlled by a bad person who had a propensity for disseminating false information.
