Kung’u Muigai, a cousin of President Uhuru Kenyatta, has urged the Head of State to avoid hostilities with William Ruto in order to preserve peace.
Muigai, the patron of the Kikuyu Council of Elders, claimed in an interview that the ongoing disputes between the two leaders were likely to cause a crisis just days before the elections.
Ruto’s allegation that Uhuru was preparing to hurt him and his children, as well as Uhuru’s subsequent answer, worried him.
Muigai pressed Uhuru to keep up the big brother act because Uhuru found the mudslinging between the two to be more embarrassing.
