In the last stretch, President Uhuru Kenyatta has gotten right to work supporting his handshake friend Raila Odinga.

Speaking in Naivasha, Uhuru urged the locals to support Raila Odinga, the candidate for Azimio la Umoja One Kenya, in the August elections.

In a clear reference to his deputy William Ruto, he said that the nation was seeking for a leader, not a marathon runner.

The Head of State, using the phrase “uzee sio ugonjwa,” dismissed criticism of Odinga that appears to be based on his age.

It says, “Ningewaomba tu kwa heshima, kuna mzee (Raila) mwengine ambaye anatembea, ata akiwa mzee, uzee sio ugonjwaā€¦ hamtafuti mtu wa kukimbia marathon, toko na Kipchoge President Kenyatta said, “Tunatafuta kiongozi ambaye ako na fikra, hekima, unyenyekevu na anapenda watu wake.

The Head of State also criticized William Ruto, his deputy, for what he called peddling lies during rallies.

He said, “Hakona kitu kibaya kama siasa ya udanganyifu, madharau, vitisho na matusi. Tumezoea mambo ya uchaguzi.”

The Olkaria 1 geothermal plant in Naivasha received an addition that the President officially opened.
