Raila Odinga, a presidential candidate for the Azimio One Kenya Alliance, has stated that his administration will ensure that there is no superior religion in the nation.
In his remarks on Thursday, Raila asserted that Kenya is a secular state and that all religions are equally valid.
The former premier provided a colonial philosophy as an example, claiming it elevated Christianity above all other religions. He promised to ensure that all religions are equal and that none is better than any other.
“My government would put a stop to the colonial ideology that placed Christianity above all other religions. We would respect all religions since Kenya is a secular state, stated Raila Odinga.
A number of Christians have been outraged by Raila Odinga’s alleged plans to abolish churches, which were previously claimed to be his intentions.
The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) has been urged to close down several churches that are not led by theologians, according to quotes from his wife Ida Odinga.
