After the general election on August 9th, veteran journalist David Makali forecast that the political coalition will hold a sizable majority in both the Senate and the National Assembly.
The Azimio La Umoja Movement of former prime minister Raila Odinga and the Kenya Kwanza Alliance of deputy president William Ruto are competing against one another in the election.
Because of the enormous popularity of the United Democratic Alliance, Makali predicts that Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance will have a significant number of seats in the Senate and National Assembly (UDA).
Makali added that since Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance will control a majority of parliamentarians, it will choose the speakers of both houses.
Makali stated on his Twitter page that “KK will probably have a majority in both houses, thus taking the speakers is feasible.”
