Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta met with a group of Kalenjin community leaders, encouraging them to back former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s candidacy for president in August.
Zedekiah Buzeki, a candidate for governor of Uasin Gishu, Franklin Bett, a former state house comptroller, and Stephen Tarus, a former ambassador, all attended the conference.
Uhuru requested that the leaders organize a sizable rally to sell Azimio in Nandi County on Sunday, July 31, 2022 during the meeting.
“I will do something on Sunday that will help as you arrange the rally in Nandi, I cannot tell you exactly, but it will be a significant thing,”
“By next week, Ruto will know I am the President, and I will do something that will let him know and remember I am president,” Uhuru further assured the crowd.
Recently, Uhuru shifted into fifth gear to support Raila Odinga in the run-up to the election on August 9.
