Kenyans are jubilant after Azimio-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga announced he will skip Tuesday’s presidential debate at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa. Laikipia County Woman Representative Cate Waruguru is among them (CUEA).
Prof. Makau Mutua, Raila Odinga’s campaign spokesman, made the statement on Sunday, stating that Baba will not share the stage with William Ruto, the nominee of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
Mutua claimed that Ruto is as dishonest as a pig when it comes to integrity and corruption, and that his boss is a man of great character. Mutua said that he cannot share the podium with Ruto.
When asked about Raila Odinga’s decision to skip the debate, Cate Waruguru, a member of Ruto’s phalanx from the Mt. Kenya region, laughed it off and said Baba had already sensed defeat in August.
Waruguru referred to him as a “state project” and claimed that Raila was afraid of the hustler movement led by William Ruto.
